Dan’s (Liam Fox) world came crashing down during the latest instalment of Emmerdale after he pleaded guilty in court.
During Thursday’s (August 3) hour-long episode, Dan stood trial for punching Amelia’s stalker, Lloyd (Matt Sutton), which left him in a coma.
Looking at the judge and with Lloyd’s wife also present in the courtroom, Dan was consumed by guilt as he was haunted by flashbacks of the incident and made a shocking decision.

When asked for his plea, Dan suddenly admitted he was guilty of manslaughter, much to the horror of Amelia (Daisy Campbell) and Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) who watched from the docks.
But what Dan didn’t know is that Lloyd died from his injuries just moments before, meaning he just unintentionally pleaded guilty to murder.
Believing he did the right thing, Dan apologised to a furious Amelia but stood by his decision.
However, it came back to haunt him when Lloyd’s wife Julie (Emma Stansfield) arrived in the village screaming at Dan because her husband was now dead.

Viewers are now convinced this means actor Liam will be leaving the soap as Dan is likely to face prison time for the crime.
One fan speculated: “So is this a confirmed exit for Dan?” as another shared: “Ohh no!!! Poor Dan this be his leaving story now then”.
“Silly boy Dan, you are off to prison for long time now,” penned a third while someone else echoed: “Ahhhhhh it has now turned to murder. Dan is finished”.

After Julie’s outburst at Dan, fans questioned whether she knew more about what her husband was up to all along.
Sharing their theories online, one wrote: “Lloyds wife will learn the truth one day…but somehow I have a feeling she knew what he was really like”.
Another declared: “Lloyd wife knows dam well he is a perv after young girls 100% sure of it”.
A third agreed: “Imagine if Lloyd’s wife is somehow trying to cover up what he did/knew all along how he was treating Amelia”.
