Barbara Windsor’s widower Scott Mitchell has been through a hell of a journey the last few years since losing his beloved wife.
In December 2020, Barbara lost her battle with Alzheimer’s disease at the age of 83, and the news devastated fans of hers across the globe.
Since then, Scott has made sure to make sure her legacy lives on and often still speaks about her career and life on TV segments, while encouraging fans to help others who faced her plight.

But where is he now? Let’s take a look…
New romance
As of very recently, Scott has confirmed a new relationship with another EastEnders actress.
He has been spotted out and about with Tanya Franks who plays Rainie Cross.
After getting close while training for the London Marathon together, their friendship turned into more and a romance blossomed.
The new couple have even now taken their romance to the next level and moved in with one another.
Tanya has reportedly moved into Scott’s £4 million West London home, which he shared previously with the Peggy Mitchell star.
The pair are said to be living in Scott’s £4 million West London home that he used to share with Barbara.
Barbara’s inheritance
Dame Barbara reportedly left £4.6 million of her estate to her doting husband Scott, who she married in 2000.
As well as this, Barbara also signed him over the firm she used for her TV pay, which is reportedly worth nearly £1 million.
Barbara also dished out some of her earnings to a number of good causes that were close to her heart.
Seven charities were handed £1,000 and they include NSPCC, Breast Care, Help The Aged, showbiz organisation Grand Order Of Lady Ratlings, National Osteoporosis Society, Headley Court wounded soldiers rehab centre and Age UK.
EastEnders Aunt Sal star Anna Karen was also given £1,000 by Barbara in her will, according to The Sun.
The pair first became pals when they both starred on Carry On films, with Anna starring alongside Olive in the classic 1970s title On the Buses.
Dealing with grief
Earlier this year, Scott openly detailed his two-year grief battle and said it’s finally “getting better'”.
Scott told Best: “Before she died, Barbara told me to cry, be broken-hearted, then have the best time. Knowing Barbara, she would have remarried a nice 25-year-old by now!”
It is evident that Barbara will always be important to him, but Scott added is time to think about his future now as he goes forward into his next chapter.
Scott continued: “Now it’s time to think about me and my future. Barbara will always be a massive part of my life, but she would want me to move on.”
He also reflected on Barbara’s passing and said: “It’s incredible. It’s two years tomorrow. I still think she’s gonna walk through the door.
“It’s something deep inside me. I wake up some mornings thinking is she still okay?
“After 27 years I’m still in the early stages of grief and processing. I still think of the good times. That’s a really good thing for me to go back.
“I lost my best friend. My other half. That’s what I lost. That’s why I still feel that sense now that she still is there with me. Sometimes feeling the loneliness that she’s not there anymore.”
He also released a book detailing his experience further which he titled By Your Side: My Life Loving Barbara Windsor and shares stories about his twenty-year marriage.
Scot added: “She [Barbara] predicted it [the book]. She said one day when I’m gone they’re gonna ask you to write a book. She said you must do it and you must be totally honest.
“I learned a lot from Barbara about life and love.”
