Fans are eager to know the truth and now it looks like we might have an answer, at least if bots are anything to go by.

Speaking to LadBible, AI said: “There are many theories about what happened on the Gavin & Stacey boat trip, but the truth is that we will never know for sure.

“The show’s creators have said that they will never reveal what happened, and they have even written a script for an episode that would have shown what happened, but it was never filmed.”

AI then suggested a number of theories that could be possible.

It suggested that Bryn and Jason fell into the water and had to take off their clothes to warm up.

Other possible theories included Bryn and Jason sharing an intimate kiss, a possible fight or the pair did something else embarrassing that they can not discuss.

Throughout the years, there have been a number of theories from fans about the mysterious incident.

However, Uncle Bryn being a gay man who hasn’t come out yet seems to be a theory that often ties into the fishing trip.

Despite the fact that things are eventually resolved later in the series and Bryn and Jason do reconcile, viewers don’t get any further insight on the scene.

Gavin and Stacey writers Ruth Jones and James Corden had originally planned to explain the fishing trip mystery way back in series two, but later changed their minds.

However Lisa Edwards – who owned the house the show used as Bryn’s home – previously revealed how she still owned a script of the never aired episode.

She previously told Wales Online: “We have a script for an episode which was never aired.

“It was supposed to be Uncle Bryn and his nephew watching this VHS.

“They both watch it together to see what happened on the fishing trip. But they decided to not show the episode.”
