Viewers of Tipping Point were left fuming at one contestant’s “stupid” mistake.
Ben Shephard took to the airwaves to present Wednesday’s edition (August 9) of the long-running game show.
Bristol nurse Fay, Dorset dairy farmer Andrew and South Staffordshire pastor Jennie all entered the studio to try and answer as many questions correctly as possible to win money from the giant coin machine.

However, it was Simon from Lancashire who whipped viewers into a frenzy with his rather strange tactic on the ITV quiz programme.

It was clear that the Health Economist was very knowledgable as he answered several of Ben’s quiz challenges correctly.
However, he had his eyes on the special counters to try and increase his own prize pot, and things didn’t exactly go to plan.
After he correctly answered a question over varieties of different citrus fruit, he passed one counter over to Fay, who chose to drop it in zone 3.
However when the token came down, it ended up moving nine counters off the shelf – which included the double counter – and viewers giggled as Jennie gained a whopping amount into her prize pot.

At the end of the first round, Simon finished behind Faye with only £500 in his prize pot and fans of the show on social media were left unimpressed by his rookie error.
“Simon says ‘pass’,” noted one viewer sarcastically.
A second exclaimed: “Simon, you wazzock!”
“What on earth is Simon playing at?” wrote one viewer before they added: “Well that backfired spectacularly Simon!” alongside a sarcastic crying with laughter emoji.

Whilst a fourth fan noted: “Simon’s fuming.”
As a fifth stated: “That’ll learn you simple Simon.”
Meanwhile a sixth fan asked: “Well that didn’t work out as Simon planned, did it?”
And a seventh stated: “Simon’s tactics are,” next to the brown poo emoji.
