‘Twisted’ Goldilocks trailer has fans cringing and ‘ashamed’ to watch horror

A new horror movie based on the classic fairytale Goldilocks and the Three Bears is set to scare the living daylights out of audiences.

In an attempt to butcher our childhoods and warp the way we think about the story forever, writer and director Craig Rees’ retelling of the story will leave you on the edge of your seat.

A trailer for Goldilocks and the Three Bears: Death and Porridge has been released and viewers were left with their jaws on the floor.

The creepy clip begins with haunting lullaby music as the character’s faces flash up on the screen.

A man and a woman appear disorientated as they sit in the forest while someone in a doll mask skips around them, wielding a gun and giggling maniacally.

The story of Goldilocks is not as it seems

Music then cuts out to make way for a tense horror movie-esque soundtrack as a person in a bear mask stirs a cauldron, while someone in a wolf mask lifts an axe above their head.

The person in the doll mask – assumedly meant to represent Goldilocks herself – skips round and round in the middle of the forest as the laughter fades out into nothingness.

On a black screen, the title of the film flashes up in yellow text before the message “coming soon”.

She is joined by some familiar friends

The film’s tagline is: “Never enter someone’s house without permission,” and features a wide range of names in the cast.

Stars include Olha Solomakhina, Julian Amos, FlexSingh, Jimmy Roberts, Abigail Huxley, Susan Franks and Robson Medler.

Fans flocked to YouTube to comment on the trailer and there was a lot of positive response.

One fan typed: “This looks dark, can’t wait!”

Another said: “Oh wow, this is Goldilocks twisted for sure. These movies are the new trend.”

A third commented that they “have to see this” while another viewer said that Goldilocks and the Three Bears from the Puss in Boots franchise “would be ashamed if they saw this”.

The creepy trailer no doubt left fans horrified

The upcoming film is the next instalment in the recent trend of fairytale remakes.

In the past few years, one classic yellow character was subjected to his own reworking with the deeply disturbing Winnie The Pooh: Blood and Honey.

The 2023 film was released on 26 January and features the bear and his pal Piglet, who have transformed into bloodthirsty murderers.

Pooh and Piglet terrorise a group of young women along with Christopher Robin.

It wasn’t particularly well received and landed itself 3% out of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, 2.9 out of 10 on IMDB and 2.6 out of 5 on Amazon UK.
