Britney Spears set to ‘copy Meghan Markle’ with tell-all Oprah Winfrey interview

Britney Spears could be set to follow in the footsteps of the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, and sit down for a tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey ahead of her bombshell memoir release.

The pop princess reportedly have four weeks to decide whether to sit down for a TV interview before the book’s release – and is said to have been offered “significant financial sums” to do so.

TV networks are now desperate to sign the star for her first on-screen chat since being released from her conservatorship in November 2021.

One source told The Sun: “The [interview] proposal remains complicated for Britney who continues to face challenges speaking to strangers at length about intimate aspects of her life.

“The trauma didn’t go away overnight just because the conservatorship ended.

“Some days can be extremely testing and conversations can trigger her to behave unusually or even erratically.”

They added that “putting a TV lens” on the star could be “problematic”.

But the Oops I Did It Again star is willing, at least, to discuss her life on paper in her new memoir.

Titled The Woman in Me, the new memoir is due to hit bookshops on October 24th this year, with the cover featuring a totally topless Britney in her younger days.

The book will “illuminate the enduring power of music and love – and the importance of a woman telling her own story”.

The memoir has been acquired by Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, with the company’s Senior Vice President and Publisher Jennifer Bergstrom telling People magazine: “Britney’s compelling testimony in open court shook the world, changed laws, and showed her inspiring strength and bravery.”

She added: “I have no doubt her memoir will have a similar impact — and will be the publishing event of the year. We couldn’t be more proud to help her share her story at last.”

Her book deal was reportedly worth as much as $15million, with an insider telling Page Six: “The deal is one of the biggest of all time, behind the Obamas.”
