As she celebrated Ray’s huge win, she accidentally launched a glass of red wine into his lap.

“I tipped a glass of wine into his lap just as he had to go up and accept his award,” she explained while on The Morning Show alongside Ray in July.

To which he responded: “Possibly, Emily was (so excited) and all that and the wine went straight to my crotch and as I was getting up I was sort of trying to dry it out”.

“I ruined the greatest moment of his life,” Emily laughed.

At this year’s Logies, which took place on July 30, Emily was up for the Silver Logie for Best Actress while Ray was nominated for the Best Actor award.

However, it was Kitty Flanagan who scooped the award for Best Actress while Hollywood star Sam Neill took home the gong for Best Actor.

During the interview, Ray couldn’t help but gush over Emily as he recalled the moment she arrived on the set of Home and Away back in 1989.

“Emily’s character was a breath of fresh air in the Bay,” he said. “She was not like any other character.

“Marilyn has remained exactly the same in terms of her beliefs and how she dressed for her age as the character got older”.

The soap legend continued: “That’s one of the reasons why she is such a success, apart from her amazing comedic timing. And that has remained constant throughout.”
