Hollyoaks star James Sutton has teased John Paul McQueen’s (James Sutton) new bond with hunky newcomer Carter Shephard (David Ames).
The actor has teased what fans of the Channel 4 soap can expect a lot of drama between the pair over the next months.
Carter is not only the new headmaster of Hollyoaks High but also the dad of Freya Calder (Ellie Henry).

Viewers will remember that left seriously injured following the minibus crash after teacher John Paul lost his concentration and ended up flipping the vehicle.

The school girl later underwent tests after revealing that she had lost feeling in her legs.
In hospital, Freya was informed that she could be paralysed and may never walk again.
Opening up about Freya’s dad meeting John Paul, James explains: “Carter knows and he treats John Paul was kindness and he offers him forgiveness which is incredible really given that John Paul’s actions permanently changed the life of his daughter.

“John Paul feels this guy someone he should be putting his trust and faith in going forward.”
The soap star went on to reveal that Carter could potentially be John Paul’s new love interest.
“John Paul is very fragile and he’s suffered a lot of trauma,” he said.
“He doesn’t know who he is or where he fits in society, he doesn’t have a career, he doesn’t have his son around, he doesn’t have a partner so he’s very, very lost and he’s looking for guidance, comfort and friendship.

“I think a confident, intelligent and articulate man like Carter is kind of what John-Paul is looking for and he fits that template perfectly.
“There’s going to be a lot going on between them over the next six months.”
Fans were introduced to Carter during Tuesday’s (August 15) first look episode when he bumped into a John Paul’s smitten cousin Goldie McQueen (Chelsee Healey), who has been struggling following the death of her beloved dog Bronzer.
Fans will have to and see what drama Carter’s arrival brings to the McQueen family and the rest of the village.
