Claire Sweeney is currently starring, writing and producing her own stage show, Sex in Suburbia, as the star gets to grip with the slew of dating disasters she’s experienced throughout her life.
The show will explore the kinky adventures and mishaps of her and her friends and it’s spurred the star to make a series of her own sex confessions along the way.
The actress, 43, has toured the country in some of the biggest stage shows – including Chicago, Guys and Dolls and Educating Rita – and the experience encouraged her to pen her own theatre show and share some of her dating and sex disasters.

Speaking on ITV’s Lorraine, she revealed: “A friend of mine came home one day and found her boyfriend in a ra-ra dress.
“We thought, ‘Okay, let’s look into that’, and we turned it into a positive story!”
She continued: “There’s also a character in it called Cheryl, who wants to find Mr Right. She goes from one disastrous date to the next, and she wants a baby… That was my kind of story.”

Sweeney stars in the play as relationship expert Penny.
The star revealed that she “is not into swinging” but admitted she was once chatted up by former president, Bill Clinton.
Sweeney told the Daily Mail she encountered the former president at Cliff Richardson’s party in Russia.
Sweeney then details the chatty conversation that followed.

“I thought: ‘You dirty dog’.
“His bodyguard then came over and said: ‘Mr. President, we need to go’.”
She says Clinton managed to prolong his stay at the party and returned to her side to continue their chat.
The star recalled asking him: “You don’t want to go, do you?
“He said: ‘How can you tell?’
“I said ‘because your left leg is dancing’.”

To which 62-year-old Clinton is alleged to have responded: “My middle leg will be dancing soon!”
Sweeney, who was on the soap Brookside and played Roxie Heart in Chicago, refused the refuted ladies man.
“I shook his hand but decided I was going home with a clean dress that night!”
Claire has also admitted she went skinny dipping on holiday – but was shocked to find a class full of schoolchildren staring at her.
The embarrassed soap star had been “training” with some friends – who were all wearing swimming costumes – on the Spanish island of Mallorca when the girls decided to take a morning dip.
But Claire was the only one of the group without a costume, and after deciding to swim in the nude she emerged blushing to find a “school party” staring at her from the shore.
The mother of one told comedian Alan Carr’s Life’s a Beach podcast: “I’ve been skinny dipping once, and I had a bit of a bad experience…
“I’d been training with my friends and they decided to have a swim at eight o’clock in the morning. I didn’t have a swimming costume with me because I didn’t realise that was part of the thing that they do.
“So I go in naked with the girls, and I come out onto the beach and there’s a school party on the beach. My clothes are at the back of the beach, and I had to walk out in front of all these schoolboys.
“It was just so wrong… It was like half eight in the morning in Mallorca. I’d probably keep me clothing on now.”
