Love Island’s Scott van-der-Sluis was days away from making the UK final with Abi Moores, but they decided to be friends and were sent packing.
But after gaining a large fan-base in the UK audience, it seems the US producers over on Peacock thought he’d be the perfect addition to their own series, and signed him up just weeks after his exit.

While there was talks of him rekindling his relationship with Catherine on the outside, Scott has entered the new Love Island villa very much single.
With a divided reaction from fans, Scott’s sister has issued a statement of support for her brother and explained his return.
In a post which has since been shared on Scott’s Instagram – as the US islanders don’t have a ban imposed – Scott’s sister Steph wrote: “Secret is finally out and before anyone jumps on a false narrative, he was asked to continue his love island experience after leaving the villa as he left alone and single.”
The statement was paired with the video of Scott walking to meet Kassy Castillo on a date as she realised he was from the UK version of the show.
A message from Scott’s team was also shared on his profile, with a photo of Scott captioned: “So Scott didn’t lie about going to LA, he just went to Fiji straight after.”
His stint was immediately hit with a lot of support, particularly from his fellow islanders as finalist Tyrique Hyde wrote: “Go show them what the UK’s about.”
Ouzy wrote: “Let’s goooo my guy,” while Mitchel said: “Maximum one liners!!!!”
In the trailer for Love Island USA, Scott said: “I’m Scott, I’m 22 and I’m from Wales in the UK. I was in Love Island UK. I didn’t find love so I thought why not take it international.”
Scott left the Love Island villa last month and told OK! Magazine that he would “never say never” to a reunion with Catherine.
Love Island USA is still on air, and UK viewers can watch the show a few weeks behind schedule on ITVX.
