An Antiques Roadshow guest was left flabbergasted on Sunday (August 20) after her diamond brooch was given an incredible valuation.
This weekend’s edition of the BBC show, hosted by Fiona Bruce, was filmed at the stunning Brodie Castle in Moray, Scotland.
The guest presented her item to jewellery expert Susan Rumfitt and explained that it had been passed down through the family, adding it was the “star of the show” in her small collection.

Examining it at close quarters, Susan explained the piece was from the 1930s, the height of the art-deco period.
“It has a sense of theatre about it,” enthused Susan. “It sort of plays away on its own with these beautiful diamonds in it.”
The guest responded: “It has a magnetic feel about it.”
Susan added: “What’s more remarkable is this extraordinary concentration on diamonds came at the time of the Wall Street crash and the depression. It seems rather strange.”
Asked for her opinion, the guest stated she believed it was a 3-carat piece, only to be told the astonishing news it was actually 14, which “helps with the value”.
“Its stunning,” Susan continued. “In an auction I’d expect this to fetch in excess of £20,000!”
The gobsmacked guest then admitted: “That’s taken my breath away. That’s amazing. Oh crumbs. It brings teas to my eyes.”
