Emmerdale newcomer Ben Addis starred in rival soap before ‘creepy’ Craig role

Emmerdale star Ben Addis recently made his debut as mysterious Craig Reed in the ITV soap.

Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) was left gobsmacked when she bumped into a blast from the past at a job fair held at The Hide.

She was visibly shaken seeing Craig again and he was later revealed that as the father of Lydia’s baby son Toby who was stillborn when she was a teenager.

She instead gave birth to a stillborn baby and buried him in the woods and didn’t say a word.

However, the truth came out in 2019 when a baby’s remains were discovered in the woodland area where she buried her child.

Now Lydia has been forced to face her past again after meeting Craig once again.

As some fans brand the newcomer “creepy” after he turned up to Lyda’s family home after “finding her address on her CV”, Daily Star has taken a look back at some of actor Ben’s other TV work.

Ben only appeared in three episodes but his role was integral to Luke Morgan’s (Gary Lucy) heartbreaking storyline which saw him develop frontotemporal dementia.

Over the course of three years, Luke visited Doctor Parker to discuss his symptoms, with the medic being the one to give Luke his devastating diagnosis after suffering from both memory loss and hand seizing.

Despite his long list of TV credentials, very little is known about Ben’s life off screen as it appears he prefers to keep his private life away from the spotlight.

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
