This Morning star Emma Kenny has revealed she almost lost her home after getting “cancelled”.
Emma – a psychologist who has appeared on the ITV programme – came under fire for comments she made amid the coronavirus pandemic.
In 2021 there were reports that she had been axed from the show but both she and This Morning said that wasn’t the case.

Speaking on the Secure The Insecure podcast, Emma revealed it was a tough time and that she did lose work after sharing her thoughts on the government’s Covid guidelines.
“I was cancelled,” she said.
“So it wasn’t a thing of, ‘I might be.’ It happened. And it’s the reality of working in a field where there is a safe space that you are allowed to remain in.
“And if you step outside of that, there are consequences.”
The star, 50, said when the pandemic hit she had not long lost her dad to suicide and was still dealing with the grief and trauma.
“I’d gone back to work after six days, because when you were a freelancer, that’s what you do,” she said.
“I was also managing some of my family’s struggles because people in my family just couldn’t go back to work.
“I was helping manage that on a financial level. So there were all these things that were happening around me. And then Covid hit.”
Emma said: “All I could think was why would you ever lock a child up with their abuser, that was all I needed to know.”
The star went on: “When I started to speak out, it was really difficult because I started to get all my contracts cancelled.
“And then my husband, who is a very lovely man, he also knew that I was the person that really brings the income in.
“He works with me and he’s amazing, without him I couldn’t do what I do, but the point is, it was me challenging our economic standard and I challenged it to the point where we nearly lost our home.
“So it wasn’t small. It was a big deal, but I had to make a decision and it was hard for my family.”
The star said a crisis manager told her to apologise and do things like take the Covid vaccine live on TV.
“And I basically said that the consequence of that for me would be the end of my mental health,” she said.
“And also the end of my credibility as a human being for myself.”
