Celebs Go Dating’s Vanessa Feltz branded ‘rude’ as she divides fans over brutal dig

Celebs Go Dating fans were divided after Vanessa Feltz hit out at her suitors when her “boring” dates shared their frustrations.

After splitting from her ex-fiancé Ben Odoedu earlier this year after it emerged that he had cheated on her multiple times, the 61-year-old TV presenter signed up to the reality dating series.

While it’s been nearly two decades since she went on a first date, Vanessa jumped right back into the dating pool when she went on a date with a Manchester businessman named Richard her first date Alex who she met at the mixer.

But it quickly became clear that she’s not going to settle for anything less than what she wants or deserves.

During Thursday’s visit (August 24) to the Channel 4 dating agency, viewers caught up with the This Morning star who has been struggling to find love with the two partners she was matched with.

When asked for Richard’s feedback on their date, the smoked salmon salesman advised her to pay less attention to her phone and more attention to her date, and open up more during conversations.

Vanessa simply replied: “I would say as the late majesty the Queen famously said: recollections may differ.

“I’m quite surprised to be in a position whereby I’m standing here taking psychological advise from somebody in the smoked salmon business.

“Thank you very much for sharing your insights, that’s great,” she said before wishing the pair well and every success in their futures.

When asked if she would like to go on another date with the two suitors, the TV presenter turned them down and instead decided to go on a blind date with someone chosen by the experts.

After watching the scathing scenes hit the airwaves, fans flooded to the social media platform X – formerly known as Twitter – to share their thoughts online.

One user penned: “#celebsgodating Vanessa has been so rude so far & looks like she’s no better next week!

“Boring or not, you don’t behave that way. Then the guy who looks like he’s trying to have fun next week, she shoots him down too [eyes rolling emoji].”

Another agreed: “That was a little bit catty Vanessa #celebsgodating” as a third agreed: “Shut up Vanessa, you didn’t want to be there don’t lie #celebsgodating.”

But many viewers couldn’t help but agree that the broadcaster was offered a selection on men who weren’t suited to her.

One user argued: “As a woman of a certain age, Vanessa will find that it’s not plenty of fish out there but plenty of plankton. It’s bloody hard work #dating #CelebsGoDating #E4.”

Another pointed out: “The choice for Vanessa at the mixer was poor to be fair! #CelebsGoDating.”
