Coronation Street cast members are reportedly fuming with ITV bosses and want to help Ellie Leach reach the Strictly Come Dancing final as revenge.
The actress, 22, made her first appearance as Faye Windass in 2011 and filmed her final scenes earlier this year after allegedly quitting the soap.
However, a source has now claimed the ex-soap star was axed by bosses – a decision which caused “major upset” behind the scenes.

Ellie is now set to star on the upcoming series of Strictly and her former co-stars have hatched a plan to make sure she goes all the way.
The insider told The Sun: “It was made clear to her earlier this year they didn’t see a future for her character so she was left with no choice.”
They continued: “At the time she said she had quit but it was always seen as an axe. It caused major upset behind the scenes because co-stars felt she was treated really badly.
“So they want her to become a big BBC star and stick two fingers up to the powers that be.”
Months after her exit, it was revealed Ellie had signed up for the BBC dance competition.
The official Strictly X account, formerly known as Twitter, posted the news on their feed as they wrote: “Coronation Street’s Ellie Leach has a new storyline… Strictly 2023!”
Ellie said of the news: “It still doesn’t feel real that I’m going to be doing Strictly!! It’s always been a dream of mine so I guess dreams really do come true!!!!”
The TV star will be joining Jody Cundy, Zara McDermott, Adam Thomas, Amanda Abbington, Angela Rippon, Layton Williams, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Eddie Kadi, Angela Scanlon and Nikita Kanda.
The celebrities’ professional dance partners are expected to be announced soon.
