Tipping Point fans claim contestant is ‘after Ben’s job’ following impressive comeback

Tipping Point fans were left seriously distracted by a contestant’s very annoying habit.

Host Ben Shephard welcomed Sue, Andrew and Mark to Monday afternoon’s edition of the popular ITV game show (August 28), which sees players compete for a £10,000 jackpot.

As host Ben Shephard asked the questions, Tipping Point viewers couldn’t help but notice an unusual habit from Mark, a senior training consultant from Bristol.

Viewers took to Twitter to complain about Mark’s non-stop talking throughout the show, offering up commentary on both his own turn on the machine and his fellow competitors’ turns alike.

Mark’s chatty behaviour caused some viewers to turn off their screens and joke about him auditioning for host Ben Shephard’s job.

One viewer tweeted: “Mark mate, seriously now, you need to stop commentating.”

Another wrote: “Mark auditioning to take Ben’s job. STFU, mate.”

A third penned: ” I don’t normally watch #TippingPoint do they always give a running commentary? I can’t bear it..”

While a fourth penned: “The running commentary is so annoying I might switch off and give him a minute to get it out of his system.”

The show was one of several major shows that moved to a different time slot today amid a major ITV schedule shakeup.

As Monday (August 28) is a bank holiday, with more people at home than would usually be, some broadcasters have added new programmes and films to TV listings.

Tipping Point usually airs at 4pm on weekdays, followed by The Chase at 5pm.

2005 film Nanny McPhee will air on ITV from 2pm, meaning Lingo – which is usually on at 3pm – will instead begin at 4pm. Tipping Point will then start an hour later than usual, at 5pm.

The Chase will then begin at 6.30pm, after the ITV News at 6. This isn’t the only change The Chase will see this week, as a new series will also start on Monday.

In a social media update on Sunday, show bosses said: “The new series of The Chase starts tomorrow at 6:30pm on ITV! Make sure you tune in!”

The Chase will return to its usual time of 5pm from Tuesday, August 29, while Tipping Point will return to its 4pm slot.
