In a hugely successful sporting career that also took in spells at Real Madrid, AC Milan, LA Galaxy and Paris Saint-German, David reportedly raked in around £630million in wages and lucrative sponsorship deals with brands including Adidas, Pepsi and Emporio Armani.
As a result he became one of the highest-earning athletes of all time, with his Adidas deal alone – signed in 1998 – reportedly bringing home £125m over the course of a decade.
After hanging up his boots in 2013 he launched his own company, DB ventures, which handles several branches of his portfolio, including his partnership with whiskey brand, Haig Club, and Tudor watches.
David is set to part ways with the former this summer, however, launching his own brand of drinks instead.
The star also has his own line of grooming products under the House 99 branding, as well as Studio 99 – a media content production form.
Incidentally the “99” in his ventures pays homage to the year in which Manchester United won the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League.
Documents filed at Companies House showed David made a profit of £19.6m in 2021 up from £10.6m the previous year, with a turnover of £34m, up from £11.4m.

Victoria, meanwhile, became a household name in 1995 under her “Posh Spice” persona as the Spice Girls debut single, Wannabe hit the top of the charts in over 35 countries.
Over the course of three albums, the five girls netted up to £60m per year each, according to Rolling Stone magazine, whilst a reunion tour in 2008 saw them each bank another cool £50m.
After the group split in 2001, Victoria embarked on a solo career to moderate success, before becoming a model, first appearing at London Fashion Week.
After collaborations with the likes of Dolce and Gabbana and Rock & Republic, she launched her own denim label, dvb Style in 2006 as well as her own eyewear range.
Two years later she launched a fully-fledged fashion label and after big names from the celeb world including Kate Winslet, Gwyneth Paltrow and Oprah Winfrey donned items from her collection, her Victoria Beckham Ltd annual turnover grew to £30m in less than a decade.
As well as collaborations with Tesco, Range Rover and H&M, Posh has also signed several lucrative endorsement deals of her own along the way, including a £12m contract with Armani in 2009.
And another bumper payday is in store with rumours rife that the Spice Girls are set to reunite once more to mark the 30th anniversary of their formation.
With a Glastonbury headline slot earmarked for next year, Victoria is expected to earn another eight-figure sum with streaming giants Netflix and Apple TV reportedly battling it out for the rights to record a documentary on the reunion.
