Sir Rod Stewart’s wife Penny Lancaster has become the most recent prominent figure to depart from ITV’s Loose Women, amidst recent discussions about backstage negativity and toxic energy.
The shocking news means the 52-year-old joins the ranks of long-standing figures, such as Carol McGiffin and Saira Khan, in exiting the “cut-throat” daytime favourite show.
Penny’s initial appearance was in 2014. She went on to maintain a regular presence on the panel until September 2022, contributing as a member of the Loose Women an impressive 105 times.

However, the mum-of-two has been said to not be able to contribute to the show’s demanding substantial time commitment, despite “enjoying doing the show”.
A source told The Sun: “She’s touring with Rod and also has family commitments both in the UK and abroad.
“She could still make a guest appearance.”
This follows talent agent Melanie Blake’s criticism of the show, where she represented 15 women on Loose Women, in the aftermath of the This Morning controversy.
She shared: “In my experience, it’s [Loose Women] that’s a cut-throat place to work and not This Morning,” before revealing the only person she’s stayed in contact with from the show is Saira Khan.
Last May, outspoken Loose Women star Carol McGiffin opened up about her reasons for leaving the ITV daytime show after announcing her official exit.
The TV star, who has appeared on the show on and off for over 20 years, reportedly fought with ITV bosses after she made comments about the Covid-19 pandemic.
Carol had reportedly engaged in a dispute with ITV bosses regarding her freedom of speech and expression.
This issue came to light during an interview on TNT talk radio, where she disclosed that her comments about the media allegedly indoctrinating the public had caused friction.
She also accused bosses of turning the show “very, very woke”.
In January, another Loose Women star left the panel, as Saira Khan announced her exit.
The 53-year-old revealed that she was giving up her seat on the show after 2020 made her “assess her priorities” and she wants to focus on “what’s really important”.
