This Morning’s Holly Willoughby issued brutal blow ahead of return to ITV show

Holly Willoughby has been issued a cruel blow by viewers ahead of her return to This Morning.

The TV star, 42, has enjoyed an extended break from the ITV programme and hasn’t hosted This Morning since the end of June.

It came just weeks after she was embroiled in the ITV scandal revolving around former co-host and pal Phillip Schofield.

Bosses have called on the likes of Alison Hammond, Josie Gibson, and Dermot O’Leary to front the show during Holly’s absence.

But on Friday (September 1) it was revealed that Holly will be back on telly screens on Monday (September 4).

Mum-of-three Holly, who has been on This Morning since 2009, will be joined by Alison Hammond to co-host the show.

However, after news of Holly’s return was confirmed, it seemed some viewers were not too happy.

Rushing over to X, formerly known as Twitter, some even vowed not to watch This Morning next week when she is on.

One person fumed: “I’ve been watching it whilst there’s been no Holly, Alison or Dermot @ITV I won’t be watching if they come back. I’ll go back to @JeremyVineOn5.”

Another chimed in and added: “I won’t be watching. I have really enjoyed This Morning over the summer without Holly.”

A third quipped: “That’s it last time I will be watching This Morning today as the two presenters I really don’t like are returning on Monday. Shame really as it’s much better without them.”

Someone else chimed in and proclaimed: “Holly & Alison ffs no,” as a fifth grumbled: “I don’t want @hollywills back on @thismorning. Will be switching channels on Monday. Listen to your viewers.”

But not everyone was up in arms of Holly heading back on the show, with one fan gushing: “Will be nice to see Holly back.”

Echoing their thoughts, someone else said: “Looking forward to seeing her.”

It comes after Holly revealed that she is refusing to “feel any guilt” ahead of her return to the show.

Writing in her Wylde Moon newsletter, Willoughby admitted that she had been gearing up for autumn early, indulging in the traditional autumn drink – a pumpkin spice latte.

“Right, I’ve just had my first Pumpkin Spiced Latte,” she confessed in the newsletter.

“Admittedly it was an iced one, but it didn’t feel at all weird! I’m already excited for the seasons changing”.

She added that she had been wanting to feel more ‘cosy’, saying that: “My body is being drawn to these warmer, cosier things because it knows inherently what to do.

“So, I’m going to surrender to this natural rhythm and not feel any guilt for being drawn to a pumpkin coffee in August. Cheers!”

Holly has been turning to her spirituality more in recent months, detailing her candle rituals on the Wylde Moon Instagram page.
