Coronation Street fans reckon things are going to get worse for Dev Alahan as they ‘work out’ Courtney Vance’s motive behind the affair.
As viewers will know, Courtney (Stephanie Davis) and Dev’s son Aadi (Adam Hussain) have been having a rather saucy fling.
The pair first hit it off when Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) decided to go into business with Courtney’s husband Darren (Ryan Early).

In Wednesday’s episode (September 13) Dev, Darren, Courtney, Aadi, Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) and Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) all headed out for a meal to celebrate the deal going through.
But things took a rather awkward turn when Courtney confessed to having an affair with another man – before storming out.
“He’s kind, thoughtful, charming – everything you’re not,” she said.
“Oh and by the way he’s got really great hair. I know you’re not the brightest so let me give you a little clue. He’s hiding in plain sight.”
Fuming, Darren at first thought Dev was his wife’s mystery fella – but Aadi then confessed it was him, leaving everyone stunned.
Later on, Courtney showed up at the Alahan residence after being kicked out by Darren – but Dev wasn’t having any of it.
However, fans of the long-running soap reckon this is not the end for Courtney and Darren.
Eagle-eyed viewers claim the pair are actually working together in a bid to con Dev and his family – with the saucy affair part of their plan.
One Facebook, one fan penned: “The whole thing has been set up for dez to lose all his money to them they are con artists.”
Echoing their thoughts, someone else said: “I think it’s all set up for his wife to seduce the son and for him to use it against dev so they keep every penny he has.”

The same user went on: “It’s a shame as dev has worked all his life with his businesses and they come along it’s just so obvious, I don’t think there’s any contract a think it’s fake but dev doesn’t know.”
Over on X, formerly known as Twitter, other fans put forward the same theory.
One said: “I still think Courtney & Darren are con artists. wouldn’t be surprised if they’re not even married.”
Someone else mused: “Still can now see Courtney and Darren doing runner with money.”
