Dannii Minogue calls Russell Brand a ‘vile predator’ in resurfaced interview

Dannii Minogue once called out Russell Brand as being a “vile predator” during an appearance on his chat show back in 2006.

The pop star headed on Russell’s show, 1 Leicester Square to talk about the release of her album The Hits & Beyond.

However, Dannii was left unimpressed by Russell, and his behaviour, after he allegedly leched over her “fabulous breasts” – with the singer saying “he wouldn’t take no for an answer.”

The sister of Kylie Minogue also claimed how Russell had pestered her for her phone number and even followed her down a corridor, leaving her in shock.

Speaking with the Mirror at the time, at a Michele Watches launch party in London, Dannii said: “He is completely crazy and a bit of a vile predator. I certainly don’t think he has cured his sex addiction, that’s for sure. He wouldn’t take no for an answer. […] He always goes that step too far. Never quite far enough to slap his face, but usually too far.

“He’s obviously very intelligent – but he wears more make-up than I do. Normally I love guys with eyeliner on. It can be very sexy, but not on Russell. Absolutely no way, never, he’s just not my type.”

She went on: “I was told he got sacked from MTV in the past for wearing an Osama bin Laden costume to work the day after September 11. I couldn’t believe that I’d just agreed to be interviewed by someone who would do something like that, it really unnerved me.

And then throughout the whole interview, he kept making shocking remarks that I can’t even repeat. Just uttering the words would make me blush.”

Dannii’s resurfaced interview comes as Russell was accused of rape, sexual assault and abuse by four women, in a joint investigation carried out by The Times and Channel 4’s Dispatches.

Before the allegations were made public, Russell denied them in a YouTube video on Friday evening (September 15) – slamming them as “aggressive attacks”.

He said his relationships were “absolutely, always consensual” and claims there are “witnesses whose evidence directly contradicts the narratives” by The Sunday Times and Channel 4′ Dispatches.

He said: “Amidst this litany of astonishing, rather baroque attacks are some very serious allegations that I absolutely refute.

“These allegations pertain to the time when I was working in the mainstream, when I was in the newspapers all the time, when I was in the movies, and as I’ve written about extensively in my books I was very, very promiscuous.

“Now during that time of promiscuity the relationships I had were absolutely, always consensual.”
