Strictly viewers all issue same complaint as ‘annoying’ sound returns minutes into show

Strictly Come Dancing is back but it seems there is one thing that viewers can do without – the “canned” laughter.

The BBC ballroom contest waltzed back onto our TV screens this weekend with the long-awaited launch show, which saw the celeb contestants being paired up with their pro dancers.

But within minutes of the action getting under way, some fans were complaining about the “fake sounding” laughter that they said was being played.

Many disgruntled viewers flocked to X, which was formerly Twitter, to comment on the taped giggles and to ask what was happening.

“What’s with the canned laughter?????” one person asked.

“Omg that fake laughing,” remarked another.

“Not here for this canned laughter,” sniped someone else, as another viewer asked: “Is that taped laughter?”

They added that the sound was “very annoying”.

Somebody else posted: “What the hell is going on with the rather fake sounding laugh track on tonight’s Strictly?!?

“Seriously, this better not be the taste of things to come!”

One fan said the sound was “ridiculous”.

“What’s wrong with the crowd noise on Strictly, sounds like they are mixing in canned laughter,” posted another person.

This year’s series of the dance contest sees Jade Goody’s son Bobby Brazier, Angela Rippon, Zara McDermott, Les Dennis, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Jody Cundy, Nigel Harman, Eddie Kadi, Nikita Kanda and Amanda Abbington taking part.

Angela Scanlon, Adam Thomas, Layton Williams, Annabel Croft and Ellie Leach will also be also vying for the chance to get their hands on the Glitterball trophy at the end of the competition.
