The Chase fans were left very distracted on the Thursday’s episode of the ITV gameshow (September 21) after a player looked the spitting image of famous British comedian, Jimmy Carr.
As players Trish, Aidan, Arthur and Jane introduced themselves to fans at home, it was Compliance Manager Arthur from London that caught viewers eye, with many noticing a striking resemblance to the 8 Out Of 10 Cats host.
“Is it just me, or does Arthur look like Jimmy Carr? #TheChase,” asked one fan.

“Arthur’s how I imagine Jimmy Carr would look without all the money and surgery !,” penned another. A third suggested he looked like a mixture of Jimmy and Alan Carr, given Arthur’s thick glasses resembling Alan’s classic look.
“If Jimmy & Alan Carr had a love child: Arthur on todays chase…” joked a fan. He caught viewers’ attention further when asked by host Bradley Walsh which chaser he’d like to take on.

His response was a gushing tribute to Anne ‘the Governess’ Hegerty, because she reminds him of a “great teacher he never had.” Some fans found humour in the comment, calling a bit “cheeky”. “Arthur wants to be schooled by Anne…” joked one fan.
“Oooh cheeky Arthur wants Anne to be his teacher be careful what you wish for,” penned a second. Unfortunately for the players, Anne was on top for the episode and managed to boot off all but one player in the head to heads.

Jane was able to secure her winnings and was left with the daunting task of taking on the queen of quiz in the final chase solo. Lisa managed to score an impressive 19 points on her own as fans shared praise for her performance online. Amazingly, after a set back by Anne on the final question, Jane beat Anne and went home with her £6k. Fans were elated for the player.
“Outstanding. Jane you legend,” penned one fan. “She’s only gone and bloody done it!!!” a second added, while a third called for her to be the new chaser. “JANE FOR NEW CHASER!! That was outstanding,” AND “jane What a fantastic Performance by herself taking the Governess Down well done you great episode.”
