‘Drained’ MAFS UK star spends day after filming in bed as show becomes ‘very fatiguing’

Paul Carrick Brunson says he’s forced to spend the day after filming Married at First Sight UK in bed because working on the hit E4 social experiment leaves him “drained”.

The professional matchmaker and life coach says the experts get so involved in the lives of the newlyweds on the show that he needs to “re-energise” when the cameras stop rolling.

He told Daily Star: “The beauty is we each do this in our real lives. It’s part of the function. The biggest difference is we don’t have 12 hours worth of clients back to back to back so because of that it becomes very fatiguing to be part of this project.

“The next day I literally have to block off my day and just lie in bed and I try to re-energise myself because I’m drained.”

16 sexy singletons have signed up for MAFS UK to find the one and have put their love lives in the hands of Paul and his fellow experts Mel Schilling and Charlene Douglas.

Speaking about the 2023 contestants, Paul said: “I feel like this is the smartest group we’ve ever had. I have to speak my truth because they are very opinionated and confident in who they are.”

Fans will watch the couples take on various challenges as they embark on married life from intimacy week to meeting each others families.

However, Paul has revealed he’d like to add some spice to the programme which will see the brides and grooms lay themselves completely bare.

He said: “I would have naked week, be naked all week. Think of the results. It’s either great or repulsive but I would have naked.”
