Below Deck Mediterranean was tossed into chaos as one cast member dropped a major bombshell.
A crew member was forced to quit the show within minutes as Captain Sandy Yawn’s plans for the latest charter were left in the dust.
At the start of the episode, chief stewardess Tumi Mhlongo and steward Kyle Viljoen faced difficulty entering Italy due to issues with their visas. But when bosun Ruan Irving tried to start his job on the boat, Captain Sandy hit yet another snag as issues with his CV arose.

Ruan claimed to have been a bosun for “about three years”, but his yachtmaster credentials appeared to include someone else’s photograph.
Captain Sandy was forced to confront him, asking Ruan in the office: “Who is that guy? Whoever issued this, it’s not yours, it’s this other guy.”
Sandy then begged Ruan to be honest with her and tell her if he actually attended a school to get his qualifications.
“I mean, honestly, if you didn’t go to a class…” but Ruan insisted: “I did do all that.” He claimed to have been educated in Monaco – but Sandy insisted “they don’t have a school” there.
Ruan insisted: “I’ve been on boats for three years with that ticket!”, but Sandy was forced to tell him: “We’re going to have to leave you on the dock. Let’s verify this. If it’s verified, then a tender will bring you to the boat.
“If it isn’t, I can’t bring you back on board.”
She added: “I’m a factual person. I’m seeing what I see, this is a problem. Sometimes mistakes happen, however, I’m thinking this isn’t the case here.

“Regardless, this is really bad. I’m in a horrible situation, having to start the first charter without a chief stew and now a bosun.”
Ruan dropped another bombshell later on in the episode, informing Captain Sandy that he wouldn’t be coming back onboard regardless due to a friend’s sudden tragic death.
And with no bosuns available for two weeks, she was forced to field promote Below Deck Down Under star Luka Brunton until she could further fill the position.
