Les Dennis appeared “bitter” over being the first celeb to be eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing, a body language expert has claimed.
The showbiz veteran, 69, and his dance pro partner Nancy Xu found themselves in the first dance-off of the series on Sunday night (October 1). After performing for the second time, it seemed it wasn’t enough for the four judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke, and head judge Shirley Ballas.
The foursome decided to put through radio presenter Nikita Kanda and her partner Gorka Márquez. That meant it was time for Les to hang up his dancing shoes.

And now, it’s been claimed that after hearing he was getting the boot from the show, Les looked “bitter.” While partner dancing Nancy “felt sorry for herself more than anything.”
Speaking on behalf of Betfair, body language expert Darren Stanton exclusively told Daily Star: “When he was told he was going home, Les had a slightly bitter expression. He wasn’t happy or pleased with the result, but I can tell a part of him was relieved about it being over now.”
Darren added: “He’s done it and gave it a good go. There weren’t any real moments of connection between him and Nancy. This week, it seemed he had given up a bit. I think he was ready to say goodbye.”
The expert then claimed how Nancy and Les “never had a really strong connection.” So much so, that Nancy appeared to be more “sad for herself.”
Darren explained: “With Nancy and Les, I don’t think they ever had a really strong connection. Nancy was genuinely very sorry to see him go. She did look upset when they were announced to be leaving.
“It’s bittersweet for her as it’s her time coming to an end too. She did look down when Tess was speaking to her and Les, which does suggest sadness – but it was probably for herself more than anything.”

He went on: “Les will be missed, he was a great personality in the competition. He and Nancy just didn’t have the connection that could have seen them through a bit longer.”
Speaking to host Tess Daly about his time on the show, Les said: “I’ve had the best time, this lady [pro partner Nancy Xu] has been amazing, a great teacher, she’s really put me through my paces.” Turning to Nancy, he went on: “I did as well as I could for you, I hope!”
Les then turned to his co-stars and said: “That lot up there, I’m going to miss you so much. I really appreciate and understand the judge’s point of view, thank you so much (to Shirley) for giving me a 10 for entertainment. I hope I’ve entertained, that’s what I came here for.”
