Singer Beverley Knight wants to duet with former England footie ace John Barnes.
The Wolverhampton-born star, 50, loves the 1990 England World Cup song World In Motion on which Barnes rapped. She said: “There will never be a better football song than World In Motion.
“Everybody talks about Three Lions – but no, World In Motion, whether it was football-related or not, is an absolute belter of a song. John’s rap will live in my head forever.”

When asked which footballer she would most like to do a duet with, she said: “Probably John Barnes, so he could rap again.”

Wolves fan Knight appears to have a big footie following. Some even come to her shows. The Shoulda Woulda Coulda singer told FourFourTwo magazine: “The one that blew me away was Harry Kane coming to see a musical I was in called The Drifters Girl.
“I was on stage, trying to be professional – but I kept looking up at the box where he was sitting, thinking, ‘Bloody hell, it’s Harry Kane! We were told he was coming just five minutes before the curtain went up. He was so nice, and signed autographs for us all afterwards.”

Her childhood football hero was Wolves and England striker Steve Bull. She recalled: “He was a hero to us all. I loved watching him play on the television.
“I never saw him play live at Molineux – which I’m sad about – because going to Molineux wasn’t something our family did back then. But I got to know him thanks to what I do for a living, and now he’s a great mate of mine. I still think, ‘Oh my God – Steve Bull’s my mate!’

“He’s so nice, although his accent is impenetrable. Sometimes I wonder how the hell people understand a word he says. I’m Black Country born and raised – and even I’m going, ‘Eh?’ My big thing is that I need to have a cup of tea at half-time. I’ve got to have that, even on a hot day – and even if I’ve had seven cups of tea already that day. We’ll definitely lose if I don’t!”
