Strictly Come Dancing fans couldn’t believe their eyes when they noticed Harry Potter legend David Bradley was sitting in the live studio audience on Saturday night (October 21).
BBC viewers gasped when the cameras turned on 81-year-old David, who played Hogwarts caretaker Argus Filch in the Potter films. Bradley, who also played Walder Frey in HBO’s Game of Thrones, was cheering on Casualty star Nigel Harmen, his good pal.
Nigel, 50, had just finished performing the foxtrot with show pro Katya Jones. Unfortunately, the actor stumbled into Katya during the routine and this was picked up by the judges, but they still scored 29 points.

And it seems David was incredibly impressed by Nigel’s moves, because he gave the pair a standing ovation afterwards. The star looked absolutely thrilled to be there supporting Nigel.
And it wasn’t long before fans on X, formerly Twitter, spotted the super-famous actor. One wrote: “Didn’t expect to see filch on #Strictly.”
Another wrote: “Actor David Bradley in the audience just then!”. A third gasped: “was that david bradley in the audience????”
A fourth commented: “Love seeing David Bradley in the #Strictly audience. Sign him up for next year!”. A fifth said: “Stop, David Bradley is the cutest person ever!”
Host Claudia Winkleman was also thrilled to see the acting icon sitting in the studio. She admitted to Nigel: “Your great friend David Bradley is in the audience. I was watching him watching you, going ‘What’s happened to my friend?’.”
A delighted Nigel said: “There he is, yeah. He’s a wonderful part of my life.” Claudia replied: “Fantastic.”
