Holly Willoughby to make ‘smart move without compromising safety’ after This Morning exit

A PR expert has shared their take on what Holly Willoughby will do next after she sensationally quit ITV’s flagship show, This Morning.

After a rather turbulent year, Holly, 42, announced that she was stepping down from her role as a long-serving presenter. The unexpected news came after Phillip Schofield sensationally quit the show in May, this was then followed by a man being charged for allegedly attempting to kidnap Holly.

But since the news of her departure from This Morning earlier this month, PR expert Rochelle White has provided insight on what she thinks Holly will do next. Talking exclusively to Daily Star, Rochelle explained that Holly will most likely focus on her business as this would be the most strategic move to make.

She said: “I feel that Holly will take some time away from the public eye to think about what her next move will be. I feel that she has a good team around and the next step would be to focus on family and to put more time and focus into building her brand Wylde Moon.

“Currently it has 18k followers, but now she has decided to leave This Morning, she can apply more time to build it alongside her podcast. If she wants to keep a small presence in the public eye without compromising her safety this would be a smart move.”

She added: “She could be strategic on where she is seen, what red carpets to attend and what interviews to do. I feel that taking the time to do this will relieve any pressure she might feel and for her to come back when she’s ready in the way that best suits her.”

In her leaving statement, Holly told fans: “This is such a difficult goodbye, you are incredible and I forever will be proud of what we’ve done together. Thank you to everyone at ITV for being supportive.

“To every guest who has sat on our sofa, thank you. Most of all, thank you to the wonderful viewers. You’ve been so loyal, so supportive and the very best company every day.”

Holly previously presented This Morning alongside Phillip and other famous stars for an incredible 14 years. But the pressure began to mount when father-of-two Phillip admitted to having an affair with a younger male colleague.

Fans then turned their attention to Holly and questioned whether she was aware of what was going on. However in an interview with BBC’s Amol Rajan, Phillip confirmed that Holly was non the wiser.

The 61-year-old said: “Holly did not know. And she was one of the first texts that I sent, to say, ‘I am so, so sorry that I lied to you’. “She didn’t reply and I understand why she didn’t reply, as well.”
