Friends star Lisa Kudrow ‘to adopt pal Matthew Perry’s dog’ after his tragic death

Lisa Kudrow is reportedly thinking about adopting the dog belonging to her late Friends co-star Matthew Perry.

The 60-year-old actress, who played Phoebe Buffay in Friends, worked with Matthew on the NBC sitcom from 1994 until 2004. And now sources claim the star is thinking about taking in his dog Alfred after his tragic death, which was revealed over the weekend.

Perry, who played Chandler Bing on the show, was found dead at his home in Los Angeles at the age of 54. TMZ and The LA Times said the actor was found unresponsive in a hot tub at his property. The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed that first responders rushed to an address in the Pacific Palisades area to see to a “water emergency”.

A source told Daily Mail: “Lisa and [the] cast will all be attending his services.” The source added: “Lisa is also considering taking in his beloved dog Alfred.”

It’s also said that Lisa is “baffled” by her pal’s passing and that the rest of Matthew’s co-stars will be attending a funeral service held for the actor.

Perry first introduced adorable Alfred to the world in 2021 alongside a photo of his adorable pup. He wrote on Instagram: “This is me and [Alfred]. Who’s cuter? Don’t answer that.”

The actor and writer also posted a photo of Alfred wearing a crown. Perry joked: “We all know who rules the Perry household even without the crown.”

It’s claimed Lisa and the rest of the Friends cast are planning to release a joint statement paying tribute to Matthew. A source told Page Six: “The cast is reeling from the loss of their brother, because that’s what Matty was — their brother. It’s just devastating.”

Lisa and Matthew starred alongside David Schwimmer (who played Ross Geller), Jennifer Aniston (Rachel Green), Courtney Cox (Monica Geller) and Matt LeBlanc (Joey Tribbiani). Jennifer and Perry were especially close friends and he told of how she reached out to him during tough times in his life.

Perry, who was open about his struggle with alcohol and drug addiction, told Diane Sawyer: “She was the one that reached out the most. You know, I’m really grateful to her for that.”
