Ariana Grande’s drummer dies aged 47 as singer is left ‘heartbroken’

Aaron Spears, drummer for Ariana Grande, has sadly died aged just 47-years-old.

The announcement was released by Aaron’s wife Jessica, who was also a former member of Ariana’s touring crew.

She shared the tribute on his Instagram: “It is with a heavy heart and overwhelming sadness that I shared the news of the passing of my beloved husband, Aaron Spears. Aaron was not only an incredibly accomplished drummer, admired by many for his unparalleled talent and passion for music, but he was also a devoted father to our precious son, August.”

Jessica continued on: “His love, guidance and warmth were the pillars of our family, and his absence leaves a void that words cannot describe. We are blessed to have him in our lives, his legacy will live on through the beautiful rhythms he created and the love he shared with us.”

Aaron and Jessica were married for 11 years and have a child together. She ended the heartbreaking post by asking people for their privacy throughout this time.

She also requested that people remember him: “We appreciated all the thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Please remember Aaron for the incredible person he was and the amazing music he brought into our world. At this time we ask for privacy as we work our way through this. With love, Jessica and August.”

Ariana left the family a message under Jessica’s tribute

Ariana commented under the post and shared her wishes to Spears’ family. After stating that she is “heartbroken, she sent them “her condolences” and told the family that she “loves them” and that her “heart is with them”.

She also shared a message on her Instagram Story and told fans that she “can’t wrap her head around it” before saying that she and her crew were “so lucky to know Aaron”. Grande then branded him “the absolute brightest light of a human being”.

Ariana continued on and said that Spears was “always the kindest, always smiling” and that she is “honoured and thankful that their paths crossed” and that they got to “spend so much very special time together”.

She also added a black and white picture of Aaron behind a drum kit.
