BBC Strictly favourite ‘unrecognisable’ as he makes show return three years after exit

Strictly Come Dancing fans were over the moon to see Kevin Clifton back on the glitzy BBC One show – looking rather different.

The former show pro was a favourite on the BBC programme. But in 2020 announced that he was stepping down after seven years of whirling celebs around the dancefloor.

However, during Tuesday’s episode (October 31) of Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two, Kevin made his epic return. The dancer was there to fill in for his younger sister Joanne Clifton on the Choreography Corner segment.

And it’s fair to say his return got plenty of people talking. Mostly because he was dressed as Wednesday Addams for the Halloween-themed episode.

Kevin was back on the show

Fans were ecstatic to see Kevin back on telly screens. Over on X, formerly known as Twitter, one person said: “Great to see you back. We have all missed you so much.”

Someone else added: “So happy you’re back.” A third quipped: “Bless Kevin for dressing up as Wednesday Adams. The stubble is a great touch..”

Kevin made his Strictly debut in 2013 but after seven years said that it was time for him to focus on other things. When he announced his decision, he told fans that his Strictly years had “been some of the most wonderful years of my life”.

Fans were happy to see Kevin back

“I want to leave on a high and have therefore decided the time has come to move on and focus on other areas of my life and career,” he wrote on Instagram. “I want to thank all of the pros for inspiring me every day as well as all of my celebrity partners.”

“The whole team behind the scenes have made always made the Strictly family what it is and the loveliest show to work for,” he went on. “Thank you to anyone who has ever voted for me and my partners. It means the world.”

Over his years on the show, Kevin danced with the likes of Frankie Bridge and Anneka Rice. In 2018 he was paired with journalist and TV presenter Stacey Solomon, before they were an item.

They went on to win the show and take home the coveted Glitterball trophy and later started dating. The pair then welcomed baby girl Minnie in January this year.
