She was sentenced to six and a half years on child pornography charges back in August 2021 after Wickelhaus accepted a plea deal, which means she would have been behind bars until December 2027. However, Lori became eligible for parole in October 2022, just over a year after her sentencing.
Wickelhaus’ first hearing was denied but in October 2023, her parole was approved. The conditions of her parole mean that Lori is on mandatory reentry supervision. The National Institute of Corrections website states that “Kentucky requires every released inmate must undergo post-release supervision”.
As per the website, this is “to ensure that the inmate has the necessary monitoring and/or support in their community”. Wickelhaus was arrested and charged with 20 counts of possession of CSAM in August 2020.
As reported by The U.S. Sun, the publication obtained a police report that said the pornography was “allegedly found on an iPhone and a white chrome laptop PC”. They also reported: “Police received a Cybertip from the Kentucky State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force after an ‘unknown subject uploaded images that depict child pornography to a Dropbox account’.”
As part of the plea deal, it was ordered by the judge that Lori receive mental health counselling. Wickelhaus was released on a $10,000 cash bond and deactivated her social media accounts after being freed.
Lori first appeared on the second season of 16 and Pregnant back in 2010, where she was shown putting her son up for adoption. She gave an interview back in 2012, during which she addressed her depression.
She said she was “on a downward spiral” and had “no dreams and didn’t have any goals”. Lori continued: “After my pregnancy, I hit a rough spot. I couldn’t really get over that I had done an open adoption with my son […]”
