Angela Rippon may be the oldest contestant to compete on Strictly Come Dancing, but she has made it clear she has absolutely no plans to hang up her dancing shoes after the show.
The 79-year-old presenter unfortunately found herself in the dance off over the weekend as all four judges opted to save her over Waterloo Road actor Adam Thomas. However, it seems her enthusiasm for dancing in the BBC ballroom is not waning anytime soon.
The legendary broadcaster is partnered up with Kai Widdrington and they are currently preparing to dance the Paso doble in week eight of the competition. And it looks like they’ll be dancing for much longer.

Angela was today announced as part of the cast heading out on the road for the Strictly Live Tour. She reposted the official announcement that was revealed on the Strictly Come Dancing Live account which showed that she will be joined by West End superstar Layton Williams and former Coronation Street actress Ellie Leach.

She wrote: “I am extremely excited to be joining the Strictly Come Dancing tour. Keep your eyes peeled on @strictlycomedancinglive for all the announcements but I’m so happy @laytonwilliams and @ellielouiseleach are also along for the ride.”
The official account wrote: “It’s time to announce the first three celebrities who will be joining @jmanrara, @shirleyballas, @craigrevel and @mrantondubeke on the 2024 Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour: former Coronation Street actress Ellie Leach; legendary award-winning broadcaster Angela Rippon; and Bad Education and Everybody’s Talking About Jamie actor and singer Layton Williams.

Fans flocked to the comments section of the post in their droves to express their immense excitement at the tour announcement. One fan exclaimed: “Omg this is the best news!!!!”, as a second wrote: “Yes!!! I can’t wait!!”, alongside three heart emoji’s.
“Yesssss 3 of my favourites are there can’t wait to see Ellie, Layton and Angela doing the tour super excited for January/February now,” explained a third, as a fourth user gushed: “Some of the faves confirmed already!”.

The star is sure to be hoping for a better score this week from the judges, as last weekend received her lowest score since week three of the competition. She was awarded 28 points by the judges, two points lower than her average score of 30.
However on It takes Two she admitted that she is finding the moves hard in rehearsals. The TV presenter admitted: “The Paso, it’s going to be a really demanding dance. There’s a lot of extra stuff that goes in to giving it the drama and the passion.”
