Seeing his wholesome display, fans were quick to congratulate him. Sharing their thoughts under the post, one social media user wrote: “Congratulations hope Mum&baby are doing well, I already know you’ll be an amazing doting Grandpa.”
Another penned: “Congratulations to you all, Eamonn. Wonderful news.” While a third said: “Aww congratulations!!! What wonderful news. Another baby girl who will adore you (eventually).”
The former This Morning presenter shares his son Declan with his ex-wife Gabrielle. Eamonn first became a grandfather when Declan welcomed his first child in 2021.
Eamonn, who was working on the flagship ITV show at the time, announced: “My son Declan and his wife Jenny are the happy couple. Jenny gave birth to Emelia, who is 7lbs 6oz.”
While presenting the show alongside his wife Ruth Langsford, the pair discussed some of the hilarious suggestions they’d come up with for little baby Emelia to call Eamonn.
Ruth said: “We came up with Grumps, but he wasn’t too keen on that one.” But Eamonn quickly admitted he’d prefer to be called Papa.
He joked: “It surprises people because they look at me and think, ‘He’s too young to be a grandfather. I’ve got people getting in touch with me about glamorous grandfather competitions and all sorts of things like that. But no, my friend Bill has anointed himself Papa and I like it.
“It’s like the Pope. There’s an infallibility that goes with it. So I’d quite like my grandchildren to call me Papa. That would be nice.”
Ruth then said: “Congratulations, Declan and Jenny. We’re very, very excited and can’t wait to meet her.”
In 2018, Eamonn’s son Declan married his wife Jenny at Castle Leslie in Ireland surrounded by close friends and family. The iconic Castle Leslie Estate in Country Monaghan is the same venue that Beatles singer Sir Paul McCartney married his ex-wife Heather Mills.
