First Dates star Fred Sirieix lands in Australia ahead of I’m A Celeb debut

Fred Sirieix has touched down in Australia ahead of his I’m A Celeb debut.

The First Dates star, 51, became the fourth famous face to land at Brisbane airport. Speaking ahead of entering the jungle, the French maître d’hôtel opened up about what he’s going to miss the most.

He said: “I’ve been camping before, I love camping. But I will miss from home my bed and coffee in the morning.” Asked how he would cope with snakes and spiders he said: “I don’t know really. I mean we’ll see we have got a lot of big stuff in Australia.”

The show is famed for its eating trials, but the tasks don’t seem to faze the reality star. He added: “I love frogs legs, witchetty grubs, why not?!”

Asked if he would want to win any reality show he was on, Fred confirmed his competitive side will be coming out. The star continued: “You always want to win, this is going to be competitive y’know.”

Fred joins the three confirmed campmates ready to take part in the gruelling show made up of Brexit campaigner Nigel Farage, This Morning host Josie Gibson and social media influencer Nella Rose.

Asked who he would least want to go camping with, Fred replied: “I’ll let you guess, I’ll let you guess!” and then began to laugh. Fred has been described as a vocal Remainer who once branded the ex-UKIP boss Farage a “coward who likes attention”.

He may have read about the politician’s involvement on the show before arriving in Brisbane. More famous faces are expected to touch down in Aus, including former EastEnders star Danielle Harold, 31, Made in Chelsea’s Sam Thompson, 31, and JLS singer Marvin Humes, 38.

Britney Spears’ sister Jamie Lynn, 32, has also signed up for the show as well as a number of other names. Hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly are both in Australia after Ant, 47, arrived early on Sunday morning (November 12).

Speaking ahead of the show’s launch, Ant said: “I can’t wait for the show to begin, it’s an incredible cast. It’ll be nice to be reunited with Dec and it’ll be nice to see him.”
