Rylan Clark joked that he and Cat Deeley were going to end up “in the bin” as they teamed up to host This Morning.
The TV star is already part of the rotating case of presenters the ITV show has lined up since the departure of long-term hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield. And on Monday (13 November) he was joined by Cat for the first time.
As the show opened, Cat joked that she couldn’t believe the “naughtiest people in television” were live on ITV together. Laughing, Rylan agreed: “Now this is officially the end… this is how it ends. With us two!”

“It kind of is!” agreed Cat. “But let’s go down in like, a storm.” “We will, we will!” Rylan agreed.
The pair then talked about how their pictures had been hung on the walls in the This Morning hallway, along with the portraits of the show’s other presenters. However, they joked that it probably wouldn’t last long. “We’ll be in the bin!” Rylan predicted.
As the show got under way, many fans posted messages on social media saying the pairing seemed to be working well. There were even calls for Cat to made a permanent part of the daytime show.
One person wrote on X, which was formerly Twitter: “Cat and Rylan. This works already.” “I already feel in safe hands with Cat Deeley,” said someone else. “And of course Rylan is always a joy.”
Another viewer urged: “Give Cat the job permanently.” “Ah it’s lovely to see Cat Deeley presenting with Rylan,” said another fan, dubbing them the “Dream Team”.
Another fan said that Cat – who has been hosting dance contest So You Think You Can Dance in the US for many years – was a “great choice” for the This Morning sofa. “Cat is showing what a difference 20-30 years international presenting experience makes,” said someone else.
This Morning used to be hosted by Phillip and Holly, with Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary taking over on Fridays. Phillip left in May after admitting to having an affair with a younger colleague, which he described as “unwise but not illegal”. Holly stepped down in October after a man was charged in relation to an alleged plot to kidnap and murder her.
