Strictly Come Dancing star Giovanni Pernice issued a three-word “special” message to his co-star as he delighted fans with his ballroom return.
The 33-year-old was forced to leave the competition early this year due to his dance partner Amanda Abbington withdrawing for health concerns. Amanda quit Strictly under medical grounds but later said she left the show due to “personal reasons”.
Since then, fans of the BBC show have only seen a glimpse of Giovanni in the background of the live shows. He also hasn’t taken part in any of the group professional dances.

Despite this, fans were delighted to see Giovanni back doing a group number on Sunday’s show (November 12). Giovanni took the proud spotlight alongside his co-star Dianne Buswell.
Ahead of the remembrance day routine, Giovanni headed to social media to comment under his co-star Nadiya Bychkova’s post, as she shared a snap of them together. Captioning her post, Nadiya wrote: “It’s becoming a tradition to dance the Remembrance Group Routine @bbcstrictly with @giovannipernice.”
She then wrote: “Always special,” a comment which was echoed by Giovanni. He replied under the post: “Always super special!!”
The news comes after it was reported that Amanda will not return to Strictly for the final next month. The final would usually see all celeb contestants return to showcase their skills.
Fans began speculating that a rift occurred between the actress and professional dancer after her departure from the show. Amanda also chose not to share a photo of Giovanni or even mention him in her “farewell speech” and instead shared a snap of her dancing shoes.
Discussing her exit, a source told Daily Star that Amanda was “fed up”. They also added: “The schedule is very gruelling and after a series of setbacks on the show she has simply decided, with regret, that it’s the right thing to do.”
Regarding Amanda’s decision not to return to the final, a source told The Mirror: “They wanted to position her as still very much part of the Strictly family, but Amanda’s response to the invitation was she’d not be back.”
The source added that things have now been left on a more “sour” note. The insider said: “It’s a shame, because her exit has been a sour note to the series this year.”
