I’m A Celeb’s Nigel Farage and Fred Sirieix’s fiery jungle clash forces stars to leave camp

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! stars Fred Sirieix and Nigel Farage clashed in a debate about Brexit – and the other campmates weren’t sticking around to watch.

It took less than 48 hours for the conversation to turn to politics, with the campmates Josie Gibson and Danielle Harold questioning the 59-year-old about former Prime Minister Boris Johnson during Monday’s episode (November 20). The ex-politician replied: “Entertaining… in small doses.

“[He’s] surprisingly introverted. You see this big act, fluffing the hair… surprising. I think he’s one of the most disorganised human beings that possibly ever lived. The whole thing’s bloody chaos. Shambles.”

The chat quickly turned to Brexit and First Dates star Fred, 51, didn’t hold back on disagreeing with Nigel’s views on the UK’s exit from the European Union. The TV personality declared: “Brexit was about immigration, I remember your poster. I thought it was shameful what you did Nigel. Shameful.”

Nigel responded: “Sadly, sadly it was absolutely true. It was a poster showing mass young men moving illegally across borders.” “But it was about demonising migrants,” insisted Fred as Nigel disagreed: “No it wasn’t. In your view it was, but it wasn’t.”

Fred pointed out: “It’s not only just my view.” Away from his fellow campmates, Nigel reflected on the conversation in the Bush Telegraph.

He said: “I knew it wouldn’t take long, I knew politics would rear its head as indeed it did. And Fred feels very strongly about it.” EastEnders star Danielle, 31, picked up on the tense atmosphere in camp as she said: “All of a sudden I’ve seen a few people start to leave.”

Removing herself from the situation, MasterChef star Grace Dent asked Hollyoaks’ Nick Pickard if he wanted to help her with the washing up. In the Bush Telegraph, Grace said: “I would 100% rather wash up than listen to another single word about Brexit.

“I was just like, ‘Oh my god, I’m going to go and put my head in that stream’.” Nick weighed in on the subject, adding: “This stuff is way above my pay grade. I’m not political and I could tell where it was going.”

Later sharing his own views on the clash, Fred told the camera: “Look, Nigel Farage is in the jungle with me. We’re bound to have this conversation. “At the end of the day nothing is going to change, Nigel believes what he believes, I believe what I believe. It was only a matter of time.”
