Strictly Come Dancing star Angela Scanlon has broken down in tears as she recalls being booted off the BBC show on Sunday night (November 27).
The Irish presenter and her dance partner Carlos Gu were the dumped from the series after landing in the bottom two against West End performer Layton Williams. As host Fleur East welcomed the pair of show spin-off It Takes Two, they were shown a video montage of their time on the show as Angela began breaking down in tears and saying she feels the loss “deeply.”
Fleur asked Angela if she felt she left the show “on a high” after her Cha Cha Cha to classic hit, I will Survive. But Angela had a different take. “I don’t know if anyone feels they go out on a high, do they? The song is a bit painful to listen to now lets be honest. I will survive feels a bit like salt in the wound considering we didn’t,” she gushed.

During the show, the remaining couples took to the Ballroom in the hope of impressing our Judges, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Head Judge, Shirley Ballas and the voting public.
Angela faced Layton and his professional partner Nikita Kuzmin, who performed an American Smooth to Magic Moments by Perry Como, originally scoring 34 points. After watching both routines, the judges delivered the verdicts, as Craig Revel Horwood chose to save Layton and Nikita.

Craig said: “Technically for me personally, the better dance of the night, and the dance I actually enjoyed the most, was Layton and Nikita.” Motsi Mabuse also opted to save Layton and Nikita, telling the couples: “Well this was certainly a tough, tough dance off. I based my decision on musicality and balance and that is why I will be saving Nikita and Layton.”
Making it three out of three, Anton Du Beke also chose to save Layton and Nikita. He said: “Well I thought that was quite a tense dance off, I don’t think either couple danced as well as they can.
“It was the closest dance off we’ve had in the series so far. This is the only thing, I saw an error from one of the couples, so I’m going to vote to keep in to the quarter-finals, Layton and Nikita.”
The next episode of Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturday 2nd December on BBC One.
