Inside Jade Goody’s mysterious ‘missing’ millions – and why Jack Tweed didn’t get anything

Jade Goody’s heartbreaking cancer diagnosis prompted her to set aside a fund for her two sons, Bobby and Freddie Brazier.

The Big Brother star worked relentlessly to build up her savings by doing interviews and selling pictures until two weeks before her death in 2009. In total she was able to leave a huge sum of £3million in a trust fund.

Her hopes was that the money would be used to privately educate her sons she had with Jeff Brazier to give them a head start in life. While Jeff and Jade split when she was pregnant with Freddie, they continued to co-parent.

Jeff said in 2014 that Jade had a lot of plans for her children, and worked out exactly how much money was needed to put them through private education until they were 16.

She’d worked out she needed to set aside £260,000 for both of them to attend private school. It was claimed that looking after her sons spurred her on in the last few months of her life.

Jeff previously said: “It was all that mattered to her. She so desperately wanted them to have the upbringing she never had.”

But sadly Jade’s cash took a huge financial hit due to a whopping £1.8m tax bill in 2011 after allegedly not paying tax for the last four years of her life. He explained that three years later, the taxman wanted even more money relating to her beauty salon.

Years later in 2020 Jade’s husband Jack Tweed had claimed the money had “vanished”. He said it “didn’t seem right”, telling The Sun that something wasn’t adding up.

He shared his regret and said he should have been more involved with the money and making sure it didn’t get “wasted”, but added it “didn’t feel right” at the time. But Jade’s mum Jackiey has since said there is plenty of cash left.

She explained that while Freddie isn’t in private school, the money is there for him if he was to attend. The rest of the cash was said to be in a trust.

Jackiey was left £10,000 in the will, but Jade’s husband Jack – who she wed two weeks before her death – received nothing but her £14,000 Volkswagen. Jade had made it clear in the will that the children were the priority.

Jack claimed that Jade had been trying to buy him a flat and split the cash they’d brought in together, but he said he added it to the trust fund. Jack said: “I didn’t take a penny from her. Nothing. She was lying in the hospital bed trying to buy me a flat. I told her no.”
