E4 Hollyoaks shock death ‘shrouded in mystery’ as village killer ‘yet to be exposed’

The truth behind Hollyoaks influencer Rayne Royce’s (Jemma Donovan) murder is still “shrouded in mystery” and the killer is still “on the loose”.

Rayne is at the core of an ongoing murder mystery and several villagers stand out from the many suspects involved. She turned heads upon her first arrival in the eponymous Channel 4 village. She was all the rage on social media, prompting her to believe she could finally become the next sensation in mainstream media.

Sadly, once all her lies were uncovered and her true self was revealed to all, Rayne hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons. The villainous character was found dead in the swimming pool of her luxury manor during a party she’d organised in dramatic scenes aired in September this year.

Friday’s episode on Channel 4 streaming (December 1) saw Prince get arrested for the murder, but the story is far from over. As the saga continues, a suspicious note with a message for Prince sheds new light on the mystery. The letter, from an unknown sender, suggests that someone out there knows much more about the night of Rayne’s murder than they’re letting on.

In upcoming scenes, Hunter confesses to Prince that he stole Rayne’s phone on the night of the murder. Hunter then shows the mysterious note to Rayne’s ex Romeo Nightingale (Owen Warner), pointing out that it encouraged Prince to change his plea from guilty to not guilty.
