The Chase fans are leaping to the defense of a player after his answer was not allowed during his cash builder round.
ITV fans tuned in to Tuesday’s episode (December 5) where players Beth, Suzanne, Matt and Dave all battled it out against chaser Anne ‘The Governess’ Hegerty. Head Teacher Dave was first up to bring home some cash for his team where fans saw him storm his way through the first round landing an impressive £7k.
But fans felt he should have been awarded £8k as one of his answers was not allowed. When asked about the location of a mountain range – Dave had the right answer but stumbled over his words.

He answered: “Snodoni..erm, Snowdon,” but although Snowdon was the correct answer, he appeared to say Snodonia, a mountainous region in Wales, first. Bradley told him he could not allow it as they “have to accept his first answer.”

“How is this any different? He corrected himself immediately, as Chasers sometimes have and still get a correct answer given. #TheChase,” blasted one fan. “First thing he said was Snowdon. The fact he then said ‘ear’ is irrelevant,” penned a second.
A third added: “He said Snowdon, f*** off Bradley!” and a fourth echoed: “Snowdon, snowdonia… bit harsh” Dave was able to beat Anne in the chase and head back with his winnings, as teammate Matt took his turn against the quizmaster.

He brought a nice £6k back brining the total prize money to £13k. The ladies weren’t as lucky after both being caught by the Governess during their head to head rounds, leaving only the boys in the final chase.
It’s not the first time the show has been accused of not allowing “correct” answers. Bradley asked him: “If a driver does a u-ie what manoeuvre are they performing.”
The contestant responded: “A turnaround in the round,” while Bradley correcting him with the right answer ‘u-turn’. Viewers at home thought this was “harsh”, with many saying his answer should have been accepted.
