One Sex and the City actress refused to strip naked for a steamy shower scene – despite film director Michael Patrick King asking her to strip.
Kristin Davis played Charlotte in the hit series and subsequent 2008 film adaptation, but she drew the line at nudity – despite having no clause written into her contract that said she wouldn’t. Aged 43 at the time, Kristin admitted: “He tried to get me to be naked in the shower scene. I feel like I can’t do that stuff. I feel really panicky about that stuff.”
She instead agreed to shoot a “cut-down” version of that same scene, which saw her character cleaning off in the shower, but despite not being fully naked, it was still “extremely stressful”.

Now 58, Kristin recently revealed that she never wants to tie the knot. She explained on the Best Friend Energy podcast that it’s the main difference between Kristin as an actress and her character Charlotte, who was always focused on finding a husband.

She said: “We have very different lifestyles, you know? I’m not married, I have never been married ― it’s not my thing. I was never focused on it. It was never, like, a goal, let’s say?
“That took some acting, let me tell you. It really did. I’m not really a wedding girl. But you know, Charlotte loved it, so I loved it.”
Kristin says she “intellectually” wants a romantic relationship, but it would have to fit in with her family life first. She singlehandedly parents her two children, Gemma and Wilson, who she adopted in 2011 and 2018 respectively.

She told Haute Living in 2013: “I certainly intellectually feel like I’d like to have another romantic relationship, but I don’t know how to make the day-to-day of it happen. I don’t have time! It has to be someone so awesome that I would bring him in and potentially share time with Gemma.”
Like her co-star, Sex and the City icon Sarah Jessica Parker confessed she also doesn’t feel comfortable getting in the buff for sex scenes. She admitted this year on the Howard Stern Show: “I think I just never felt comfortable exposing myself that way.

“I never had any judgements about anybody else doing it,” she said, adding that it “wasn’t a morality thing”. She said: “The only thing… I was concerned about was that I just didn’t feel comfortable doing nudity. I suspected that if it wasn’t in the pilot, it would be a part of a series.”
Thankfully, show creator Darren Star told her: “We’ll have other actors. If they feel comfortable doing it, they’ll do it, but you do not have to.”
