The Chase fans were left fuming at their screens over a player’s incorrect answer – but things soon turned around for her.
The hit ITV gameshow was back on TV screens on Friday (December 15) as telly legend Bradley welcomed four new quizzers. As fans tuned in for the primetime programme, he introduced contestants Ian, Katie, Gary and Jane before they battled it out to take home the all-important cash prize.
This week the quartet were up against Darragh Ennis who made sure to bring his A-game against the wise quizzers. But things took an awkward turn when player Katie made an epic gaffe.

During her cash-builder round, Katie, a fan for backpacking and travelling was asked by Bradley: “What continent does the Hindi language originate?” She answered: “India,” which was incorrect.
And it didn’t take long for viewers to kick off over her blunder. On X, formerly known as Twitter, one person said: “That famous continent. India. I can’t stand this anymore. Get me outta here!”
A second mused: “Did she just call India a continent?!” A third quipped: “That well known continent, India! And she wants to go backpacking in Asia!”

But it seemed Katie had the last laugh. She managed to make it through her head-to-head with the Chaser, bagging a spot in the final.
She joined first player Ian at the panel and up next was Gary. However, he was eventually caught by the chaser during his head-to-head. Final player Jane went up against Darragh for just £0 – his low offer.
She managed to make it through though and joined her team for the final round – that saw them play for a hefty £11,000. In the last round, the trio managed to get 13 questions right. And even chaser Darragh commented how they had some “horrible” questions.
However when it was his turn, Darragh caught them with 48 seconds remaining – sending the team home empty-handed.
