Emmerdale’s Mark Charnock admitted he asked a director to change certain parts of his scenes opposite Zoe Henry.
In recent weeks, Marlon and Rhona have been rocked by the arrival of baby Ivy, who is the biological daughter of Rhona and her ex-husband Gus (Alan McKenna). Fans will remember Gus asked Rhona if he could use their frozen embryos to have a baby with his partner Lucy.
After plenty of deliberation, Rhona told Gus that he couldn’t use their embryos. Last month, Marlon was stunned when he bumped into Gus and a heavily pregnant Lucy in the hospital.

Lucy eventually went into labour but sadly died during childbirth. During Tuesday’s episode (December 5) of the soap, Rhona wasted no time stepping inside to help Gus, who was struggling with Ivy.
Realising Gus isn’t coping, Rhona and Mary invite him and the baby over for Christmas. The tension has already started bubbling over between Marlon and Rhona, and actor Mark confirmed it’s just the beginning.
The 55-year-old, who’s played Marlon since 1996, recalled recent scenes he filmed opposite Zoe which involved a number of overlaps due to the complexity of the storyline.
He exclusively told Daily Star: “One of the most exciting things to do is to overlap with each other, but technically it’s quite hard because of booms as they find it hard to edit. But if you do a certain shot with a certain amount of booms then you can overlap.
“When you do those scenes, each person has got so much to say about where they stand on it that they can’t express it fast enough. We’ve done a few scenes recently and I knew it would be great with Zoe.
Mark added: “It’s been very thrilling. Sometimes you’ll get on set and you’ll be like, ‘This is obviously an overlapping scene’. But they say you can’t but we’ll do it in the edit.
“I said to the director before the block started, it would be really nice if we can overlap these scenes. She was brilliant and did the shots in a certain order so it meant we could.”
