Big Bang Theory’s Kate Micucci says ‘I don’t have cancer’ – a week after cancer diagnosis

Big Bang Theory’s Kate Micucci gave fans an emotional update on her lung cancer battle to her delighted followers.

Just days after announcing she had been diagnosed with cancer, the star happily revealed that she is now cancer free. Kate, who played Lucy in the long running CBS sitcom, posted a TikTok giving an update on her battle saying surgery she had last week was a success.

The 43-year-old said: “Hey everyone! I just wanted to thank you all so much for the good wishes and all the love that I have received this past week. It meant so much to me and really came at a time that I really needed it, so thank you.”

She then composed herself briefly before adding: “I have great news, which is that I am cancer free!”

Kate continued: “The surgery last week went great. All the reports came back that it worked, I don’t need to do any other treatment.

“So big thank you to all my doctors and nurses and everyone that took just really great care of me. And thanks to figuring it out early because I am very very lucky and I know that.”

She concluded by saying she feels good now, and is looking forward to spending Christmas with her young son.

“I’m honestly just so excited and truly grateful. So thank you all for all the prayers and wishes,” she said

Fans flooded the comments section with love and support.

One person said: “Oh my goodness thank you for the update. take care of yourself. Merry Christmas.”

Another added: “That’s fantastic news! You make the world so much better by being in it.”

A third wrote: “You’re human sunshine and I am so glad everything looks great for you.”

While a fourth added: “Your enthusiasm for life is everywhere. Never lose your excitement at being alive.”

The Garfunkel and Oates actress had just revealed her battle with cancer a week ago, as she sat in a hospital chair, dressed in a hospital gown after surgery.

“Hey, everybody. This is not a TikTok. It’s a sicktok,” Kate began the video.

She went on to say that she’d had surgery the day before, and was lucky that doctors had caught it early.

Kate expressed her surprise at having the disease, having never smoked cigarettes.

She went on to say that it’s been a bit of a trip and that she will be moving slowly for a few weeks.

“But, then I’ll be back at it,” she said.
