EastEnders copper Jack Branning might have just cemented his destiny as the Christmas Day fatality following his recent escapades on the popular BBC soap.
Not only did Jack put himself at risk of revenge from three of The Six, but he also managed to infuriate viewers once again during Friday’s episode (December 22). His latest shenanigans involving some of Walford’s women have left fans with a strong hunch that it’s him on the floor of the Queen VIc.
Adding fuel to the fire is a cryptic clue from the final scene of the latest episode. This scene, right before the highly anticipated Christmas Day extravaganza, might just be the key to unraveling Jack’s fate.

While Phil is conspicuously absent from the scene, fans couldn’t help but notice a peculiar detail that has them convinced of Jack’s impending demise. Keanu, Rocky, and Dean appear to be metaphorically ‘behind bars’ on the other side of the Square gates, while Nish and Ravi remain locked in their police cells.
Jack, on the other hand, stands inside the gates alongside most of The Six (Kathy Beale, Denise Fox, Linda Carter, Sharon Watts, Stacey Slater and Suki Panesar). Could this be the foreshadowing of his ultimate fate?
It’s believed one of The Six has killed the mystery man in a violent way. So it makes sense that Jack would be in the running as he’s gotten on the wrong side of them.
Jack’s once-rosy marriage to Denise has crumbled in recent months due to his series of betrayals. Denise discovered his tryst with fellow Christmas suspect Stacey, leading her to declare their marriage over.
But Jack’s actions took a sinister turn when he attempted to manipulate Denise by using their daughter Amy’s mental health as leverage. Their heated altercation left Denise terrified of the man she once loved, and Stacey also grew to resent Jack for his behavior.
Jack’s treacherous ways didn’t stop there, as he may have just ignited a powder keg involving Suki and Stacey. In a shocking twist, Jack contacted the police to reveal that Eve Unwin was still alive, jeopardizing Nish Panesar and Ravi Gulati, who were arrested for her alleged murder. Initially agreeing to give Suki and Eve time to flee, Jack ultimately betrayed them by spilling the beans to the police.

While Suki, Eve, and Stacey remain oblivious for now, it’s only a matter of time before they realize Jack’s betrayal. The episode concludes with a chilling shot of six of the seven men who could meet their doom, standing witness to the Walford choir’s performance in the Square.
