The Weakest Link viewers were left fuming and claimed they had “given up” on the show minutes in – as they slammed the line-up.
The hit BBC show was back on screens on Saturday (December 23) for a Christmas special. Hosted by Romesh Ranganathan, the program saw eight famous faces put their general knowledge to good use.
However, within minutes of the show starting fans were left fuming over the line-up. The latest stars hoping to bag some cash from charity included Alex Jones, Cliff Parisi, Coleen Nolan, Dane Baptiste, Mel Schilling, Danny Beard, Paul Zerdin and Meryl Williams.

But some viewers had no idea who they were. Rushing over to X, formerly known as Twitter, one person said: “My god TheWeakestLink are scraping the barrel celebrity wise lol. I recognise like 2 of them.”
Someone replied to the post and said: “Same here!” While a third quipped: “I’ve not heard of any of these celebrities.” Another viewer raged: “Sorry but these ‘celebs’ are thick bloody hell.” A fifth penned: “Given up on The Weakest Link.”
The first famous face to get the boot was Paul Zerdin followed by Mel. Up next was former EastEnders star Cliff Parisi.
For the final round it was between comedian Dane and The One Show presenter Alex and they ended up bagging over £8,000. It was then time for their head-to-head round.
In the end, it was Dane that came up triumphs after they both tied. Dane then walked away with the eight grand for his chosen charity Black Minds Matter UK.

Speaking after his win, Dane quipped: “I think I’ll tell my partner first, then my family. And then what I will probably do is contact all of my primary school friends and rub this in their face.”
He added: “It’ll be like not only was I a wise man that time in assembly, I’m now a wise man in real life.”
