Emmerdale’s Kelvin Fletcher and wife Liz admit ‘unplanned surprise’ for family

Ex-Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher and his wife Liz Marsland have opened up about the “unplanned” route their life has taken them over the past few years.

The duo have been sharing their life on a farm in ITV1 show Fletcher’s Family Farm. It follows the couple and their kids, Marnie, six, Milo, four, and 18-month-old twins Mateusz and Maximus.

And despite looking like they were born for the challenge, the duo have confessed it wasn’t part of their plan originally. They spoke on Good Morning Britain this week.

Andy Sugden actor Kelvin said: “It’s the most random thing but that is true, we were set to move to California and unfortunately after the pandemic that was kind of hampered somewhat. But I think subconsciously we wanted a new chapter, something exciting, so we ended up finding this little farm.”

He went on: “We didn’t plan on this but sometimes the best things in life are those that are unplanned.” What may surprise fans is that Kelvin has little farming knowledge.

The one-time strictly -come-dancing>Strictly Come Dancing champion played a farmer on Emmerdale, but his knowledge on the subject ended with his scripts. He said: “There is nothing relatable or transferable from my time on Emmerdale.”

It sounds like the farm is a money-maker, though – or at least the family is hoping it will be. That’s because fans were recently left horrified at the cost of a Santa experience there.

Tickets for kids to meet Santa cost between £48 and £54. But adults who have to accompany their kids also had to fork over between £24 and £28.

Fans said it was too expensive for a family day out. One said: “Jeez how much?”

Another commented on social media: “Wow, that’s expensive.” While a third added: “Prices are a bit extreme, well actually a lot.”

Meanwhile, others pointed out just how much it would be if families had multiple children. However, others still wished success on the family, despite confessing they’d been priced out of attending.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV
